Australian Immigration

South Australia adds 259 occupations to skilled migration program

South Australia has expanded its general skilled migration program by adding 259 occupations to its Skilled Occupation List.

Offshore skilled migration applicants meeting the minimum requirements can now lodge their Registrations of Interest (ROIs) for receiving an invitation for a state nomination from the South Australia state government.

Australia to extend visas for eligible engineering graduates

Australia has announced a two-year extension for eligible engineering visa holders who lost time in Australia due to Covid-19 border restrictions.

Engineering graduates with the Skilled Recognised Graduate (subclass 476) visa will get their visas extended by 24 months by the Australian government.

The extension will allow engineering graduates to live, work and study in Australia with the usual length of the visa and an additional six months.

Saskatchewan launches immigration pathway for tech talents

Saskatchewan has launched a new Tech Talent Pathway under its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) for tech workers pursuing Canadian immigration.

The new pathway under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is designed to attract tech talents to aid critical labour shortages in Saskatchewan’s tech sector.

The Tech Talent Pathway will offer tech workers permanent residency in Canada, support Saskatchewan’s growth and increase the province’s global competitiveness.

New Zealand Immigration

NZ removes self-isolation for fully vaccinated arrivals

New Zealand has removed self-isolation requirements for fully vaccinated travellers arriving in the country.
Previously, travellers entering New Zealand were required to self-isolate for seven days as a public health measure against Covid-19.
Experts welcomed the decision to remove self-isolation for fully vaccinated travellers arriving in New Zealand as a practical and sensible move amidst a steady decrease in border Covid-19 cases.

Three places to visit in Canada!

Canada is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. This beautiful country is home to some of the most jaw-dropping places and attracted over 21 million visitors every year on average in the three years before the pandemic. To help you know more about tourism in Canada, here are three of the most popular tourist destinations in the country!

1.   Niagara Falls

Arguably the most famous spot in Canada, the Niagara Falls has been attracting throngs of tourists for well over a century. Located just an hour’s drive away from Toronto, the Niagara Falls drop approximately 57 meters. You can even take a boat ride and enjoy the view from an astoundingly close distance!

2.   Banff National Park

The Banff National Park in Alberta is one of the most photographed places in western Canada. Lying in the heart of the majestic Rocky Mountains, this National Park is home to some heavenly lakes, such as Lake Louise – which reflects surrounding mountains on its green water, and Moraine Lake – which has a gorgeous canvas of blue and green and was once featured on Canada’s $20 bill!

3.   Old Quebec (Vieux-Quebec)

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, Old Quebec, also known as Vieux-Quebec, is one of Canada’s historic gems. It is spread across the Upper and Lower Town of Quebec and contains the most historic buildings in the city. The Upper Town rests on 100-meter-high cliffs and houses the Citadel, the Place d’Armes, the Plains of Abraham and the Parque Historique de l’Artillerie. The Lower Town along the St. Lawrence River is the site of the centuries-old original settlement and home to the outstanding Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac.

Ukraine

Millions of Ukrainians flee country amid Russia invasion

More than a million refugees have fled Ukraine to neighbouring nations after Russia’s invasion of the country.

An onslaught of Russian tanks, troops and missiles forced Ukrainian residents to seek asylum in neighbouring European countries, but the mass exodus of refugees is exerting tremendous pressure on these hosts.

Many Ukrainian refugees have also been apprehended by U.S. border officials after the former’s attempts to enter the United States via Mexico to seek asylum.
