Australia reopens borders for skilled migrants and students
Australia reopened its borders for the return of vaccinated skilled migrants and international students on December 15, 2021.
Fully vaccinated skilled migrants and international students will now be able to enter Australian states that have opened their doors for international travellers.
In addition to skilled migrants and international students, provisional families, working holidaymakers, and humanitarian visa holders can now enter Australia without applying for a travel exemption.

Analyzing the benefits of resuming Australian skilled migration
On December 15, 2021, Australia reopened borders for fully vaccinated skilled migrants and international students after almost two years of pandemic-inspired border closures.
With the arrival of skilled migrants and international students, many benefits are expected to follow that will aid Australia’s economic recovery following the pandemic.
Three such benefits include growing wages, relieving skills shortages, and increasing net migration in Australia in the next few years.

NZ approves MIQ exceptions for targeted migrant workers
New Zealand has granted border class exceptions to let more migrant workers enter the country to relieve the labour shortage gripping the primary sector.
The federal government has allowed border class exceptions for skilled migrants in sectors such as the dairy industry as part of Managed Isolation and Quarantine (MIQ).
Exceptions granted by the New Zealand government include 200 mobile plant and machinery operators, 40 shearers, and 50 wool handlers.

New Zealand’s National Sport - Rugby!
Rugby, the national sport of New Zealand, is more than just a game to Kiwis. It has a huge influence on the Kiwi lifestyle and culture, and is supported by passionate fans from the grassroots level all the way through to international super-teams. Rugby is an obsession, and no part of New Zealand is quite complete without a set of Rugby goalposts in the background!
Rugby was first introduced to New Zealand by Charles Monro in 1870. By 1879, the sport’s popularity had skyrocketed in the country, and the first rugby unions were formed in Canterbury and Wellington. A few years later, the New Zealand Rugby Football Union (NZRFU) was established in 1892.
New Zealand’s men’s national rugby team, commonly known as the All Blacks, is a powerhouse in the international rugby scene and have won the Rugby World Cup on three occasions – 1987, 2011 and 2015. The All Blacks were also ranked as the top team in the world from 2009 -2019, and remains the current leader in the world rankings!

Lithuania
Lithuania wary of new migrant wave from Belarus
Lithuania said they could soon face a new wave of incoming migrants from Belarus in renewed attempts to push migrants into the European Union.
According to Lithuania, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko ordered migrants to be cleared from Minsk, which would force migrants to try to cross into Lithuania, Poland and Latvia.
The European Union also blamed Minsk for creating a humanitarian crisis by distributing Belarusian visas in the Middle East and pushing migrants across borders once they arrived.
