AU launches new skilled migration visa with travel exemptions
Australia has announced a new skilled visa that will exempt travelers from entry requirements in a bid to fast-track the country’s post-pandemic economic recovery.
The new visa, labelled the Temporary Activity visa (subclass 408), will allow a rapid relocation of migrant workers who travel to Australia and participate in several specific types of work under Australia’s “Post Covid-19 Economic Recovery Event”.
The visa will allow skilled migrants to move to Australia with a government-issued travel exemption and aid businesses that are deemed critical to the Australian economy by the Global Business and Attraction Taskforce.

5 in-demand jobs in Quebec due to Covid-19 pandemic
One of the most devastating impacts Covid-19 has had on Canada is its effect on the job market.
Due to border closures and travel restrictions, Canada has suffered from a lack of skilled migrant arrivals from overseas, which has suffocated the country’s workforce and industries.
However, despite many occupations being negatively impacted by the pandemic, some jobs saw an increase in demand, according to a government study.
Here are some of the top occupations that have increased in demand in Quebec during the pandemic:
· Information systems analysts and consultants (NOC 2171)
· Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174)
· Financial auditors and accountants (NOC 1111)
· Medical administrative assistants (NOC 1243)
· Pharmacists (NOC 3131)

UN condemns U.S. expulsions of Haitians
United Nations’ top refugee official Filippo Grandi condemned the mass expulsion and deportation of Haitians from the United States.
He said that expelling Haitians without screening for their protection is “inconsistent with international norms and may constitute refoulement.”
He also urged the U.S. to rescind its Title 42 health-related restrictions, which deny most refugees any opportunity to request asylum in the country before being turned away.
